What does it cost?

You now know that each site we develop is individually designed. The price of a web site will depend on the complexity of the web site, the features required, and the type of content.

A large part of the work involved in creating a web site is taken up in the initial consultation and design process to produce the basic page layout and appearance on which all of the other pages are based. The exact number of pages in the web site does not affect the price greatly.

The price is more influenced by the amount of design work required, the complexity of the content required and the format in which you provide the information to us. For example if you provide content and logo in electronic format then less work may be involved than if we have to convert from printed literature.

All of our web sites are written in such a way that the web pages will be found by the major search engines. The web site will be submitted to search engines, and the standards based design will encourage as high a ranking as possible.

Some features will increase the overall price of a web site such as; conversion of your logo or logo creation, a lot of images, slide shows, site search, content management system, or a shopping cart facility.

We will include a .co.uk domain name and one years hosting on our shared server if required

When we provide a quote we give all details of what is being included so that you can further tailor the final specification to your needs and your budget. There is no obligation until you accept the quote based on the agreed specification. Once the quote is accepted any alterations or additions may be chargeable (full terms & conditions available on request).

The site will be fully tested before sign off and deployment, but as peace of mind we will include three months free maintenance. Thereafter we will make a reasonable charge for maintenance or alteration which will depend on the extent of the work involved.

Unlike template based providers, we don't give a package price. We do realise probably would like some idea of the likely cost before making an enquiry or requesting a detailed quote. So below we give some examples of likely scenarios with an approximate price range for each.

Scenario 1 - The basic brochure web site

Your organisation wants to have a web presence to give basic information on its products or services and to provide contact information for potential customers. You do not trade online.

A small basic web site of around 5 pages will will be in the range of £250 - £600. The site will probably include some graphics, a company logo and a contact form. Having multiple pages is advantageous for search engine optimisation.

Scenario 2 - The full brochure web site

Your organisation wants to provide extensive product or service information with images and to provide contact information for potential customers. You do not trade online.

A web site of about 6-15 pages will be in the range of £400 - £900. The site will probably include a company logo, images, some graphics, and a contact form. You may want other features like maps and slide shows. The cost will be influenced by the amount of design work required, the complexity of the menus, and how you provide the content information to us. This will provide a very effective marketing tool for your company.

Scenario 3 - The small shopping cart web site

Your organisation wants to provide product or service information with images and contact information for potential customers but you also want to sell a limited range of products or services online, around 20 items which change infrequently.

A web site of about 6-15 pages with a basic shopping cart and payment facility will be in the range of from £700 - £1000. The site will probably include a company logo, images, some graphics, and a contact form. The cost will be influenced by the amount of design work required, the complexity of the menus, and how you provide the content information to us. This will provide a simple selling tool for your company but is not a data driven eCommerce site.

Scenario 4 - The content management web site

Your organisation needs to present a large amount of information, the information changes regularly and you have various people who are to contribute that information.

A Joomla based content management system using a customised Joomla theme to suit your organisation with a home page and around 10 pages of information (you can easily add, edit and delete pages) will be in the range of £700-£3000. The cost will be influenced by the complexity of the configuration of the modules and template management and the number of section and content categories that are setup. The site will validate for web standards and accessibility and be search engine friendly.

These are only examples of the types of web site that we can supply. Data driven sites such as larger shopping sites or membership type sites which involve a database and programming vary greatly and could cost anything from £500 to £5000 depending on the complexity. These prices are only representative, we will prepare a detailed quote working to your brief for a web site that meets your specific needs.
